About CommercialInvoice.org

Learn why CommercialInvoice.org was created, how the private browser-based generator works, and the principles behind the service.

Our purpose

CommercialInvoice.org helps exporters, small businesses, online sellers, and logistics professionals prepare a clear commercial invoice without creating an account or buying invoicing software.

International shipping paperwork can be unfamiliar and carrier forms are often difficult to complete. Our goal is to provide a focused, carrier-neutral tool that explains the important fields while keeping the editing experience simple.

How the generator works

The generator collects shipment and item information in your browser, calculates item values and totals, and creates a printable PDF. Invoice contents normally remain in the current browser tab's memory. A controlled test environment may enable an administrator-only setting that uploads generated preview PDFs to server storage for testing and inspection.

The core workflow is free and does not require registration. Advanced customs, importer, transport, and charge fields remain available when a shipment needs them.

Carrier-neutral by design

CommercialInvoice.org is an independent informational tool. It is not operated by or affiliated with FedEx, UPS, DHL, a customs authority, or another government or logistics organization.

The generator is informed by common international shipping practices and publicly available guidance, but requirements differ by destination, carrier, product, and shipment purpose. Users should always confirm the final document with the relevant carrier or customs adviser.

Our product principles

  • Simple first: common fields are visible; specialized fields appear when requested.
  • Professional output: calculations and PDF structure are designed for practical shipping use.
  • Privacy by default: invoice contents stay in the active browser tab.
  • Clear limitations: the service provides document assistance, not legal, tax, customs, or tariff-classification advice.
  • Continuous improvement: guidance and field models are reviewed as the product develops.
