Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CommercialInvoice.org handles information when you use the website, commercial invoice generator, PDF preview, educational pages, or contact us. CommercialInvoice.org is the service name used throughout this policy.

Invoice information

The core generator processes invoice fields and creates PDFs in your browser. By default, we do not transmit or store your invoice contents, addresses, item details, or values on our servers. In a controlled test environment, an administrator may enable PDF preview capture; while that setting is enabled, generated preview PDFs are uploaded to server storage for testing and inspection.

The generator does not write invoice data to localStorage, sessionStorage, cookies, IndexedDB, or another persistent browser cache. Data exists only in the current tab's memory while you edit and preview. Refreshing or closing the page clears it.

Shared devices

If you use a shared or public device, download your document and use Clear form when finished. The generator does not provide draft recovery.

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamps for security, delivery, and reliability. Invoice field values are not required in page URLs and should not be included in these logs.

We use this technical information only where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the website. Hosting and network providers may retain request logs under their own security and legal obligations.

Cookies and local browser storage

The core invoice generator does not use cookies or persistent browser storage for invoice contents. The website may store a limited preference, such as light or dark appearance, on your device. Essential authentication or security cookies may be used if account features are enabled, but an account is not required for the public generator.

We do not currently use advertising cookies in the MVP. If optional analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking is introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before activation.

Analytics and advertising

The MVP does not require analytics or advertising. If third-party analytics or advertising is enabled later, this policy will identify it. Such services must not receive invoice field values or generated PDF contents.

Contact messages

If you email us, we receive the information in your message, your email address, and related delivery metadata. We use it to respond, maintain necessary correspondence, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Email providers may process and retain messages under their own policies. Please do not send a completed invoice or sensitive documents unless necessary.

Legal bases and data rights

Where data protection law applies, technical and contact information may be processed to provide the service, respond to your request, protect the website, comply with law, or pursue legitimate operational interests. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of personal information we control.

To make a privacy request, email hello@commercialinvoice.org with Privacy Request in the subject. We may request reasonable information to understand or verify the request. These rights may be limited where information must be retained for security, legal, or recordkeeping reasons.

International processing

The website and its service providers may process technical or contact information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards should be used by the relevant service provider.

Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the limited information handled by the service. No internet service is completely secure. Invoice contents are cleared from the current tab when it is refreshed or closed; technical logs and contact messages may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose, security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.

Children

CommercialInvoice.org is intended for business and shipping-document use and is not directed to children. Do not use the service to submit personal information about a child unless you are authorized and it is necessary for a lawful shipment.

Data control

You can remove the current in-memory form using Clear form. Downloaded PDF files are controlled by you and your device.
